On AI connection the owner decides whether people in this workspace may connect their own AI assistant to Trustbird. The connection is off by default, and connecting an assistant is not possible yet.
Why this protects your organisation
An AI assistant that can read your management system helps you find answers and prepare work faster. It also means your data about risks, suppliers and weak spots leaves Trustbird and goes to the AI service each user chooses, which may be outside the EU. That is a decision about your own data, so it belongs to the owner and is recorded, and it stays off until the owner consciously switches it on.
Steps
- Open AI connection in the Workspace group. Only an owner sees this screen.
- Read the explanation of what switching on means for your data.
- Choose Switch on the AI connection if that fits your organisation. The screen then shows the address of this workspace for AI assistants.
- To stop, choose Switch off the AI connection and confirm.
The AI connection is a single switch for the whole workspace. While it is off, the address of this workspace for AI assistants answers exactly as an address that does not exist, so nobody can tell from the outside whether the workspace uses it.
What switching on means
Trustbird's own AI features only use Mistral, hosted in the EU. That agreement does not apply to the AI assistant a user connects: once the connection is on, data of this workspace goes to the service that user chooses. Switch it on only if that is acceptable for your organisation.
Whatever an assistant prepares, people still decide in Trustbird itself.
What is recorded
When an owner switches the connection on, Trustbird records who did it, when, and the explanation that was shown on the screen at that moment. Switching on and off both appear in the Audit log, so you can show an auditor who allowed the connection and on what terms.
If it does not work
AI connection is not in the menu
Only an owner of the workspace can see and change it. Ask an owner if the connection should be switched on or off.
The connection is on, but my AI assistant cannot connect
Signing in for AI assistants is not available yet, so nothing can be connected for now. Until then the address refuses every request.
