Today: what you see here and why
Last checked on
The Today group shows what is waiting for you: a short overview on the Today screen, your own tasks, every task in the workspace, what is due for review and the documents you have been asked to read.
Why this protects your organisation
A management system only protects you when the agreed work actually gets done: access reviewed, suppliers checked, policies read. Most of that work is small and easy to forget. This group puts it in one place, with the soonest deadline first and a reason with each item, so nobody has to go looking through every screen to find out what needs doing this week.
Steps
- Start each working day on Today and work through Needs your attention from the top.
- Open My tasks to see every task assigned to you, including those without a deadline.
- Use Tasks to create a follow-up for someone else or to see what the whole team is working on.
- Check Due for review for records whose review falls within the next 30 days or is overdue.
- Open My documents to read to confirm the policies and procedures you have been asked to read.
The Today group sits at the top of the navigation. It is where you look first; the other groups are where you record and maintain your management system.
- Today: four figures about the state of your management system, and one list of what needs your attention, soonest deadline first.
- My tasks: every task assigned to you, whatever it came from.
- Tasks: all tasks in the workspace, to create, assign, filter and complete.
- Due for review: the reviews of documents, risks, suppliers, measures and evidence that fall due within 30 days, or are late.
- My documents to read: the approved documents someone asked you to read, and your confirmation that you did.
Much of what appears here is prepared elsewhere. A review scheduled on the Reviews screen shows up under Due for review, a follow-up on an incident or a supplier becomes a task, and a new version of a policy lands with its readers under My documents to read. Overdue items are named as such, in a calm colour, without alarm.
If it does not work
Today and My tasks stay empty, although tasks are assigned to me
Trustbird links your account to a person under People through the email address. Check that there is a person with exactly the email address you sign in with.
I cannot create a task
Owners and members can. An adviser can only do so once the owner of the workspace has given them edit rights for the Improvement module.
