On Trust page you switch your public trust page on or off, choose whether your valid certificates appear on it and write the introduction at the top.
Why this protects your organisation
Prospects and customers ask the same security questions again and again: are you certified, what does your policy say, how do you handle backups. A public page with answers you have approved saves your sales and security people time and shows openness without handing out internal documents. Because anything on it is visible to the world, only content the owner has established appears there, and only the owner can switch it on.
Steps
- Open Trust page in the Prove group. The top of the page shows the address of your trust page.
- Switch on Show valid certificates if your certificates should appear.
- Write an Introduction of a few sentences, for example about what you do and how customers can reach you with security questions.
- Add the content of the page under Trust page content and have the owner establish it.
- As owner, switch on Trust page is on and click Save. The address becomes a link to the live page.
Your trust page is open to anyone with the address, without signing in. It can show three things: your valid certificates with the standard, the certifying body and the date until which they are valid; the policy summaries and security practices you established under Trust page content; and the documents customers can request under Documents on request.
Full documents never appear on the page. A customer who wants to read your full policy requests it, accepts the NDA and waits for someone in your workspace to approve the request.
The page notes that certificates are entered by your organisation and not verified by Trustbird. Switching the page off takes it offline straight away; the address then shows a page that does not exist.
If it does not work
I cannot switch Trust page is on
Only the workspace owner can switch the page on or off, because that publishes to the outside world. You can still change the other settings if you are a member, or an advisor with edit rights for Standards and certification.
There is no Save button
You can only read this page. Ask the owner for edit rights for Standards and certification if you are an advisor.
The address shows a page that does not exist
The trust page is still off. Once the owner switches it on and saves, the page appears at that address.
A certificate does not appear on the public page
Only certificates that have not expired are shown, and only while Show valid certificates is on. Check the Valid until date under Certificates.
