Trust page content
Last checked on
Trust page content holds the short texts on your public trust page: summaries of your policies and descriptions of your security practices. Nothing appears publicly until the workspace owner establishes it.
Why this protects your organisation
A customer assessing you as a supplier wants to know how you handle their data, but will not read a twenty-page policy, and you do not want that policy circulating outside the company. A short summary in plain language answers the question and keeps the full document internal. Because the owner establishes every text before it goes public, and any later change takes it off the page again, nothing reaches the outside world that has not been checked.
Steps
- Open Trust page content in the Prove group and click New item.
- Choose the Kind: Policy summary or Security practice. For a policy summary, choose the established Document it summarises.
- Write a clear Title and the Text, for customers who are not security specialists. Never paste the full document. Click Create.
- As owner, click Establish on the item. From then on it appears on your trust page while the page is on.
- Use Hide or Show to take an item off the page temporarily, and change the order of the items in the list.
The list shows each item with its Title, Kind, the linked Document and its Status:
- Not established: written, but not yet approved by the owner. Not on the page.
- Hidden: established, but hidden for now.
- Public, please check: on the page, but the document behind it has a newer established version.
- Public: on the page.
On the public page, policy summaries appear under their own heading and security practices under another. A security practice does not need a document: use it to describe how you handle a topic customers often ask about, such as backups or access to their data.
The Kind and the Document of an item cannot be changed after it has been created. Create a new item if you need a different one. The page itself, and whether it is online, is managed on Trust page.
If it does not work
An item I changed has disappeared from the trust page
Changing the title or text withdraws the establishment, so an edit never goes public unchecked. The owner has to establish it again.
The status says Public, please check
The document behind this summary has been established again since. Read the summary against the current version, edit it if needed, and have the owner click Still accurate.
The document I want to summarise is not in the list
Only documents with an established version can be chosen. Establish the document on the Documents screen first.
I do not see Establish
Only the workspace owner establishes items. Members, and advisors with edit rights for Standards and certification, can write, change, hide and delete them.
