On Workspace settings an owner changes the address of the workspace: the part of the web address in front of the Trustbird domain. Links to the old address keep working.
Why this protects your organisation
The address is how your colleagues, advisers and auditors find your workspace. A recognisable address makes it harder to mistake a lookalike link for the real one. Because an address can be linked from emails and bookmarks, an old address is never handed to anyone else.
Steps
- Open Workspace settings in the Workspace group.
- Enter the new Address. The Trustbird domain is shown after the field.
- Choose Save.
- You are taken to the new address straight away and stay signed in.
- Let your colleagues know: they need to sign in again.
Every workspace lives at its own address, for example yourcompany in front of the Trustbird domain. You chose it when you signed up, and you can change it here.
What happens when you change it
- You move to the new address automatically, without signing in again.
- Everyone else working in the workspace is signed out and signs in again at the new address.
- Links and bookmarks to the old address keep working: they forward to the new one.
- The old address stays tied to your workspace for good. Nobody else can ever take it.
If it does not work
I do not see Workspace settings
Only an owner of the workspace can change its address.
This address is not available
The address is taken, reserved, or was used by a workspace before. Old addresses never become free again. Try a different one.
My address is refused because of its format
Use 3 to 40 lowercase letters, digits or hyphens, and do not start or end with a hyphen.
Too many attempts
Every save checks whether the address is free, and you can do that 10 times an hour. Wait an hour and try again.
